Shooting Stars 2011, national level Short Film making competition in Mangalore, at St. Aloysius College Mangalore.
Shooting Stars is an opportunity for the student filmmakers to put their talent to test. It is a forum for the young minds to voice their views on the present day scenario through their films. The competition is open only for students. Students from all streams of under graduation and post graduation can participate in the competition.
The films and documentaries should not exceed 10 min duration. Cash prizes are awarded for three categories.
- Best Konkani film
- Best Short Film
- Best Documentary film
Movies shall be sent on or before 13 January 2011.
The event date will be announced soon.
Competition Guidelines:-
- Your entry can be either a short documentary film or a short fiction
- It can be based on ANY THEME!
- Duration: should not exceed 10 minutes
- Vulgarity, obscenity or glorification of violence will not be entertained
- Language: in ANY language! Films in languages other than English should have English sub-titles.
- Konkani films will have a separate category. Hence you could send in entries in this special category.
- Technical crew of the film shall not exceed 6 members (the main team; assistants and artists can be any number).
- A team can send in any number of entries.
- Registration fees will be Rs. 300/entry
- Last date to reach your entry: January 13, 2011.
- The entries should be addressed to the HOD, Dept of Mass Communication, St Aloysius College, Mangalore by courier.
Please enclose the following while sending your entries for Shooting Stars:-
- THREE DVD copies of each film.
- Registration fee should be sent in DD form in favor of THE PRINCIPAL, ST ALOYSIUS COLLEGE, MANGALORE;
- Synopsis* and Contact details of the team head – Contact number & email id.
- “Bonafide letter” duly signed by the head of the institution, certifying the names of participating crew as the students of the particular college/ university/ department should be sent along with the entries.

The crew of the films selected for the final round will be intimated by email/ phone before the festival.
