The unexpected always happen when you least expect it. Kaustubha also witnessed one such ocassion.
The two day adrenalin rush, tight competition and amazing performances saw Father Mullers Homoeopathic Medical College, Derelakatte emerg as the overall champions of Kaustubha, the Media Fiesta.
Alvas College, Moodbidri came second in this race.
The valedictory event had Mr Jayaraj, the internationally acclaimed director as the chief guest. The audience was thrilled by his presence and this added more glitter to the already shining event- Shooting Stars 2010, the national level student short film making competition.
Out of the 21 movies recived from across the country, 14 were selected to be screened in the finals. Three movies were nominated for each category- short film and documentary. Here again the results stood out with Highland Drive Road, from IIT, Madras bagging the first place in short film category and The Third Kind, submitted by Father Muller’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Derelakatte bagging prize in the documentary category.
The movies were judged by three eminent personalities from across the country. Mr Eshwar Santhosh, film maker and member of Film Employees Federation of Kerala was one of the three judges. N.R.Sudhir, Director of Cinevision Distributors Pvt. Ltd from Mumbai was the second judge. The third judge was Mr Rajashekar Rao, Head of Ankit advertising, Indore.
